Recomended amps rating for Phebe

Post by Diry Steve »

I want to separate the power supply for my Phebe from my main PSU supply to reduce amp fluctuation from the PSU to the driver board and motors when the bed is heating.

What would be a good amp rating for Phebe? Wiki for the MK2 bed says 10 spare amps on the PSU, but Phebe is a little smaller.

Thanks

You should expect up to 10A@12V or 5A@24V when it is cold. When it gets heated the current will drop due to the increased resistance in the cobber tracks. If you want a sepperare PSU for the heatbed, and maybe the extruder too, I would recommend to look for a 24V supply.
