PreFlight Checklist

Post by EdwardP »

After a month of experimenting with the Rostock MAX V2 printer, I realized that I was doing things backwards.

My usual procedure was to start a print and watch it for a bit. If it comes out OK, smile with satisfaction. If it does not, figure out what is wrong, fix it and start the job again.

Now I run through a checklist before printing. A sheet of paper is needed to check Z calibration. Might as well use one that has instructions on it. If everything is fine, it takes less than five minutes. If something is amiss, it needed to be adjusted anyway.

Here is a PDF version: http://3dw4rd.com/wp-content/uploads/20 ... light1.pdf

Please let me know if I have forgotten anything. As well, let me know if you find it useful.

That's great. How about you draw a Phillips head screw head in the middle of the "Down" and "Up" curves so it's clear to the tyro what you're talking about turning? (You know the answer, but if you're sharing it with others they won't necessarily know.)

Thanks,
Dan

Based on your suggestions, here is the updated PreFlight Checklist. The old version should still be around just in case you saved the link.
