I got the rostock max v2 together and turned it on for the first time. The rambo fan kicks on so i know its got power but im not getting any signal to the LCD screen. What supplies power to the LCD screen? Also the contrast dial in the back fell off...
Here is a video of my problem.

I checked all the solder connections and made sure that it was properly installed; You can see the pictures if you follow the link to the delta 3d printer google group.

First thing I would double check is to see that the two flat ribbon cables are connected the right way up. They are easy to plug in upside down on the Rambo side.

You said the contrast potentiometer fell off? That's probably your problem if it's not reattached...

If the back fell off the contrast potentiometer, it is likely never going to work.Mogarbobac wrote:I got the rostock max v2 together and turned it on for the first time. Hi
Believe it or not
but it seems to be a problem in general . I dont know why ?
- Maybe the joints are not well soldered
- Maybe its the Display / Displayboard.
I found with your post 4 display problems in the last 2 month, seems to be a problem with quality of the display. But I dont know how many Rostocks were delivered in the last 3 month so its a very subjective opinion.
The only thing that helped for me was to buy a new display. SeemeCNC offered me a new display, but it doesnt made sense to ship that cheap part over the ocean, so I bought one here and that worked very well.

Re: Rostock Max V2 Build Problems (LCD Not Working)
What i found was that i was getting the full 12volts from the power supply into the board but everywhere i checked on the board i was getting .6volts
So i thought to myself what would put the board in a low voltage state.. I checked all the wires and found that i had reversed the white and black wires from one of the 3 "stop switches" and that was setting it in a low voltage state. I fixed them and the LCD lite up nicely, however, the contrast was now set to maximum which resulted in a white out. Luckily i found a 10k potentiometer which is required for the qc2004a lcd board and soldered it on. It worked great.
