Hello fellow forum members.
My name is William , and now that studies are over for the year, I have time to build a Huxley H1 printer with the ball bearing upgrade kit. My query is regarding the electronics side of the build. The documentation I have details modifications to the 4Axis board, and an easydriver board. My question is whether the easydriver board is part of the H-1 Complete Kit for Parallel Port ?? If it isn't, then do I need it and where do I get one ? If it is, well that's outside this forum...
Any advice would be appreciated, and this 3D printer is looking quite amazing already.
Thanks,
William

Re: Hello from a newbie with a query..
I feel a bit foolish now, the kit has a 4axis controller board, while the instructions have a 3axis controller. Can I assume the easydriver board is not required as the 4th axis is provided on board ?

Hi William,
I ordered a RAMBo board with my printer kit. This board is not the one described in the instructions I have. (I assume you have the same directions.) My board works very well, without any hardware modification. I'm using 4 axis (X,Y,Z, extruder), but it also has circuitry for a 2nd Z motor, a 2nd extruder, a fan, and some other stuff I'll probably never use. It also includes heater controls - one for the extruder, one for the heated bed. Definitely one stop shopping!
You may have a Ramps board, in which case I can't help much.
The technology seems to be changing faster than the manuals can be written!

Hi will
I was in a similar boat as you, confused on the setup.
The kit now ships with the 4-axis board, so you no longer need the easydriver. This board has control for several other things as well, like limits, emergency stop, fans, and a disable.
If you have any more specific questions i am happy to help.
