I'm interested in the same thing. Just yesterday I grabbed some of the files from github so I can lay something out in CAD. Fortunately, I have my RMaxv2 located in a prime spot in my office. Unfortunately, it nearly sits underneath an air vent. Plus my office is air-conditioned making printing with ABS is a real challenge. I'm suffering from layer delamination at the moment. Anyway, I haven't seen any enclosures for the RMax (haven't really looked). I'm wondering if it can be laser cut out of wood or acrylic and design like a bi-fold door where the pieces just fold. This wouldn't attach to the printer. It would just be placed around it. Just spit-ballin'.

I have used blue masking tape and a big ol' garbage bag. I just tape the bag to the top and bottom of the printer. It looks ugly as sin but works for now until I build a proper enclosure. I had delamination issues printing ABS at 227C but with the trash bag I get perfect prints at 225C. I still can't print in the A,B,C spots on the plate due to issues mentioned in this thread: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 0+behavior but if I'm within the triangle defined by the XYZ axes I have had great success.

Yes. The top would just sit on top of the enclose loose or sit within some brackets. Or...perhaps even that could be hinged on one side.

Psh, I used a trash bag over the top. I swear I saw +1 juryrigging appear over the printer for a second when I did that.

Ha! But are you worried about static with a trash bag? I think I'm going to build a better cardboard (box) enclosure today just to see how it looks before I get too antsy.

I've been thinking quite a bit about this as I build my Rostock V2. I plan on having it in my office, printing mostly ABS, so an enclosure seems like a must have. Here's what I've come up with as my specs:
- Clear acrylic so I can watch the printer
- Doesn't enclose the electronics at the bottom so they aren't subject to high temps
- Evacuates fumes in a manner that doesn't cool the part (I was thinking maybe a small aquarium air pump would create just enough negative pressure to keep fumes from leaking out)
- Has a thermometer built in so I can monitor internal air temps
Our makerspace is talking about getting a CNC laser cutter - if they do I might just tackle this project and publish the plans.

There is a great V1 printed enclosure you can work off of for a V2. It only encloses the print area, and some silicone caulk, tape,sugru, etc. will make it sealed for everything except the door which you'll have to think up something for (or use something like sugru). There are spare thermistor ports so you can just throw a thermistor somewhere in the enclosure and get readings like that if you want to do a little coding to get it into the firmware and display it on the LCD, or just hang something like an oven thermometer in there.

I conducted a bit of an experiment last Thursday with some cardboard and a little plexiglass window taped to the inside so I could see the LCD. It made a HUGE difference printing ABS. It was toasty warm inside after my print finished. I tried printing something the week before three times to prevent delamination and I couldn't do it. This ghetto enclosure solved it. It's definitely not an ideal enclosure but it proved that enclosing the bot in my air conditioned office (with a vent really close to my printer) would make a big difference.
Now I'm on to something nicer. I had an idea for a bracket that is very similar to the bracket pictured in the linked photo for the v1. It's ideal as it allows the bottom end of the bot to breath. Are those stl's available somewhere? Perhaps they can be reviewed for a modification for the v2. It would be great to design the thing so that there aren't any special cuts to the acrylic or plexi. If they are just straight cuts then they could easily be ripped on a saw. I would also like the enclosure easily removed. Anyway, more ideas to kick around.

Nope, didn't need to. The top melamine served as the top of the enclosure. All seams were taped and sealed except for the seam where I have the sanding blocks keeping it closed. At the top was about a 1/2" wide gap all of the way around. I had my build plate set for 95C during my print. I think as long as it's warm down below one can deal with a little heat loss. By the way, I cut those pieces to match the shape of the printer and they are 37" long. I can use the enclosure over and over again...it just doesn't look nice.
