Has anyone figured out good settings in slicer for black PLA??

I cannot get through a job without my printer jamming. I'm using a fan with the E3d hot end. Prints most other colors fine. I've tried temp ranges from 205 - 215 C ... I'm fantasizing about someone taking screen shots of slicer with all the settings so i can just plug and play. Printer jamming is so so frustrating.

I have run 2 reels of black PLA, and had to change alot of the settings from blue and gold. I was defintiely getting alot of clicking from the stepper and was manually raising the temp by 2 or 4 degrees. I found 202C worked well for me. I will try and upload the slicer settings tonight if I can figure out how to do that.

Are you using the v5 or v6 hot end?

If it's the V5 and you're having jamming, there is a very simple solution. Throw the stock hot end back on. The V5 has big issues printing PLA. Some people have had successful fixes while others are still stuck. This issue has evidently been resolved with the V6 (so far). Nobody really knows for sure what exactly the problem is with the V5, but most of them don't do PLA reliably.

I have had a heck of a time with PLA for the entire time I have had it.... Until I did what was recommended to me months ago: add a drop of oil to the filament every few hours. I've had my machine printing black PLA for about a week straight. 2 rolls of flawless PLA printing with my v5. If you want to get the great finish of the e3d and are ok with this extra step, then you'll get the prints you love from it

what the heck? What kind of oil? Does it smoke ? haha

Cooking oil, vegitable oil, that sort of thing.

Just wipe a short portion of the filament pre-extruder side and allow it to feed, repeat every few hours, works like a charm.

No smoke! LOL

Although I do seem to get a hankering for some fries when printing!

I personally recommend Sesame Seed oil. It' not better in any way, but it smells delicious!
