Hey Guys, My name is Tim and I am recently retired from the Navy after 23 years on Submarines. I have an addiction to RC warships, especially RC submarines. Go figure......anyway I am an electronics technician by trade and have some drafting and 3d modeling experience. I wanted to combine my talents and hobbies with this technology so that I can print items for my models. I know that a lot of people in the rc hobby say that a filament printer doesn't have the resolution to do what we need, but I challenge that notion and am willing to push the envelope.
I bought a MAX V2 back in Feb and assembled it in March and have been happily printing various items on it since then. Mostly have been figurines for my daughter and pokemon card boxes for my son, but I have also made some brackets and things for a 1/96 scale destroyer I am starting to build. I have been lurking on here reading about the trials and tribulations of calibration and the areas out side of the triangle and the creeping rods and can relate to all of it because I am experiencing it too. I figured it was time to get on and open my mouth and add my 2 cents worth at times, i hope it helps!

I was on the USS Lafayette SSBN616 back in the 70's and have fond memories of submarine life.

I am in the RC industry, shoot me a PM if you need help. I have several disteibutors and can get you set up if you have good products. Resolution is OK, bit finish isn't there yet. You need to concentrate on internal product, not the shiny bling.

I prefer Bubblehead, and Eaglez is right.......1 tentacle, 50 foot in diameter.......and a steely grip that won't quit.
