An explanation:
My sister runs a blog http://www.documentingdelight.com and is also a Game of Thrones enthusiast (like me, except I don't run a blog... Well I do run a blog, but it only has 3 posts).
She asked if printing a baby-sized throne would be possible for a fun GoT themed shoot. It turned into a massive and fun project to create it. Removing most of the faces and a LOT of the structure, then cutting it into 10 parts for printing.
I was going to print it in 6 parts, but because I wanted to have it mostly hollow below the seat, I had to print those separately. You can kind of see the hollow lower section in one of the shots.

It used 3kg of filament (not including the crown) even though it was only infilling 10% for most of the model (20% for the seat sections)

Used a 0.6mm nozzle on the e3d v5 and this was only possible with the oil lubricating technique since my e3d v5 is one of the possessed ones that doesn't like to print PLA :/ I did 2 walls on the entire model.

The full print took well over 100 hours and I began to appreciate the value of stepper dampers during the week it printed (I don't have any on this machine and I was wishing for them). I varied the speed between 30 and 70mm/s though I opted for the lower speeds after a while, it produced a nicer result.

Any major fails? Had a couple of power outages, but I was able to resume with minimal problems.

The final size of the throne is just under 600mm tall and 400mm square on the base. (23" x 15"). It turned out to be incredibly strong (on the seat part), enough so that I could probably stand on it without issue. Probably.

So yeah, sorry about teasing this earlier, but I was sooooo happy to have it all printed at at last. I did want to paint it and shoot it properly before showing it.

@ Barry. Yeah that would be an awesome training seat. Not a hard change to make it accept a potty underneath! Though the blades and hilts aren't the most suitable for child sitting still :/

@ Laserman. I considered this, but at the moment it's a broken model. Having printed it, I wouldn't print it again without some changes. I'll probably make the changes then upload it to Repables. I guess I'm ashamed of the model and need to fix it first
