Hi yeah so i did the whole foil thing again

yeah it smoked up quite a bit like before, but after about 1 minute the smoke stopped.

Whatever was burning apparently got burnt up already, i let the machine sit at 190C for a good 3 minutes, plus cool down time and no more smoke came out
still i think it should be fine.

Kinda disconcerting seeing all the smoke though :? il consider changing to a heater in the future, but for now this will be fine.

Oh by the way my fan isnt starting up, i think it might be wired wrong, is it safe to flip the wiring?

Its the small chinese variety that one orders from seemecnc, red and black wires.

You can flip the wiring on the fan momentarily to see if it starts, red is positive 12V, black is negative or ground.
The smoke you see from the hotend is normally the residual oils on the resistors and even from your fingers as you
wrap the foil. It should burn off and never be seen again. If you continue to see smoke you have a problem.

Hey not seeing anymore smoke so everything seems fine now.

Just a question

I am now configuring the end stops, and i am slightly unclear about the instructions in the manual. Should the heat be on while i do this?

How is it different from configuring the Z height, also I dont quite understand the logic behind having two identical scripts #2 and #3 can you illuminate this for me before i proceed?

i think scripts 2 and 3 are only different by a minus "-" sign on the x axis... or y axis i dont remember. it is important to still have heat on for this process as to simulate the approximate expansion of the heated bed and hotend like during a print.
