That would have been a hard video to make.

The Makibox A6 was my first choice for a printer last year - cheap, compact, originally with a pellet feed instead of filament. In hindsight I'm kinda glad I got the twitch when I was about to hit the "buy" button and opted instead to look for something that wasn't vapourware.

Am I mistaken for believing the it's mail fraud if you cash the check before you ship?

I have a close friend that had a business that ran into problems with a supply line. He started cashing checks before he had the product/shipped it. Along with some other mismanagement, he got nailed in the courts. It took a very long time before he could get even person credit.

We'll see if it sticks to him or not. Only time will tell.

You are, unless there's clear intent to defraud. But other things may apply, like the Fair Credit Billing Act, contract law between you and the merchant, or contract law in combination with credit card company policies.

However, in this case, the company appears to be based in Hong Kong, so US law and US courts likely will have very little to do with it.

SOME customers, depending on how they paid, may have recourse via their CC company or paypal. Up to them to pursue it, however.

Ouch
I am new here, this is my first post.

I am accustomed to buying on-line (since my Amiga days) and have always BELIEVED that credit cards may ONLY be charged WHEN or soon AFTER items ship.
I just ordered a Rostock V2 kit (about 36 hours ago) with a claimed 2 week lead time - but my card was charged IMMEDIATELY.

As I said, I am new here but with a LOT of on-line buying experience.
I am getting a little nervous about SeeMeCNC - though I haven't seen anything (here or elsewhere) to suggest that they aren't above board.
I got an order acknowledgement straightaway, no estimated delivery date.

Is this normal ? i.e. do kits just show up about 14 to 21 days later with no ship date estimate or tracking number ?

To be fair; I ordered around 5 p.m. eastern time Friday afternoon (4 p.m. in Indiana) maybe some "paperwork" will come through early next week during "office hours".

Welcome to the forum!
You have no need to be concerned.
Seemecnc is one of the most honest Companies on earth and they can't possibly respond to anything until the weekend is over.
Please don't be concerned, they are definitely above board and I would trust them in every way.
Anytime you need help or have a question just drop us a message and we will help in any way we can.

Thanks Eaglezsoar,
I have read a LOT of your posts and have already formed a good (enuf) opinion of you (-:

Should I expect to get an estimated delivery date early next week ? A tracking number once it DOES ship ?

Dang-it, this WAIT is gonna finish me, I have outstanding truck repairs (half done), maybe I'll crawl back under there to keep busy.

Thanks again, that was a nice warm welcome.

The lead time they post on their website seems to be a worst case scenario. I ordered mine on a Tuesday evening, and recieved it that Friday.

It's been a long time since I have ordered a kit from them, (I have two Rostock Maxes and one Orion) so I cannot tell you for sure about the tracking.
On Monday after 9AM Central Time connect to their site and choose the chat option and ask them. Great bunch of guys!
Good luck on your truck repairs!

Oh Ohh, Tuesday to Friday of same week ? - - I'm nowhere NEAR ready for THAT sort of schedule (-:
Gotta get the copper RTV, round up small tools and CLEAR A SPACE in the basement.

The truck is just about done.
It is SUMMER, so I'm thinking that it might be LOW season for building things like this... maybe, but I board-sailed 5 times last week, so I'm a sun and wind seeker.

Patience, I must have PATIENCE.
Must be ready too.

BTW, I'm EXCITED - that shows, right ?

Anyone use YDI electronics in Needham, Mass ?
Do they have anything relevant to 3D printer builds ?
