cooling fans do not recieve anny power (voltage).
i recently inherited a rostock max from my farther in law. the printer prints ok and everything seems to work except for the 3 cooling fans i mounted on the heater thing.
facts:
Rostock max v1.
rambo 1.1b
repetier-host v0,95F (with build in slic3r)
Running on a win7 x64.
i have tried measuring the voltage in DC (and AC just to be sure) on all 3 fan ports on rambo my heater is using number 0 (zero) and there is no power coming to fan 0 (zero) or any other fan port for that sake.
i have tried turning on the fan from repetier under manual control and by using the m106 command. plus i have tried selecting the always on option in slic3r. i'm using normal 40mm 12v pc fans. now i am plugging the fans directly into the rostock's psu and that works great, except for the fact that i have no control over the speed and therefore the cooling of it... the fuses are all fine and when i have measured for voltages the machine have been printing there for hot enough for the fans to receive power.
someone please help!!! if i google any more i am going to go inzaine.....
THX.
also if anybody have a rambo v1.1b would you be so kind as to take a pictur of the board? just so i can se how the wires are placed. thx again.
i have drawn som black circles on the picture, that is where i measure for power when the fan is on and the heater is hot.
I think Rambo is defect... :-(

Re: I think Rambo is defeted... :-(
I believe that by default fan0 is off. It's used as the layer fan, so you could test it by manually turning the fan on in Repetier Host. Heat1 is used as the peek fan (turns on when hotend is on) with the default SMC Repetier firmware.
Re: I think Rambo is defeted... :-(
hi.
under repetier, slicer, config, filament settings, cooling. i checked the keep fan always on. (with no luck)
Dos the board check for a fan when starting up? because i havn't got anny on right now?

i just tryed installing repetier-host v1.00b just to se if that helped.... but sadly no, the fans still receive no power.
i cant think of anny thing more to do than replace the rambo board... damn..... annyone got one lying around?

There are LED's under all of the Mosfet outputs on the board, if in repetier host, you set the fanspeed to 100% and check the fan on box, does the LED come on.
If it does not, does the hotend heater work?
If it doesn't the issue is probably the fuse.
If it does you'll want to check the firmware.

Re: I think Rambo is defect... :-(
hey Polygonhell.
i just uploaded a picture of my board.
the black "circles" are the places that i mesur for power when all is turned on in repetier. and with no luck.
the small red circle seen on the picture have never been on or blinking.
all 3 fuses are fine and the printer prints pretty well. except for manually turning on and off the cooling fans all the time, and sometimes during a print... (that sucks).
as you can se on these 2 pics the fan is on and set to 100% but there is no light on the board...
also you wrote: There are LED's under all of the Mosfet outputs on the board.
i can only find 1. i know that im a noob at this, but i should be able to count to more than one... lol... (am i looking in the wrong places?)
so if what i shown you is correct, then that only leaves the firmvare.... how do i check that/upload som new?
thx for the help

Re: I think Rambo is defect... :-(
that pic shows the hotend on, and the heated bed on, but not the fan.. are you able to send manual commands to the machine? if so, send M106 S255 to the printer, that would manually turn the fan on, and see if a red LED lights up next to the far left one... from what I'm seeing your fan isnt being turned on...

hi guanu.
just tryed that. m106 s255. turns the fan on in repetier, but no new lights flashes...
if you have other ideas plz write.
thx

Re: I think Rambo is defect... :-(
What result do you get from the M115 command? That should tell you what version of firmware you have loaded. I'm guessing you're currently running whatever was there when you inherited it.
The LED's are all labeled LED# on the silkscreen, and some of those are legible in your picture. They're surface mount LED's, so they look very similar to surface mount capacitors when they're not lit. Two of them are on in your picture (the bright ones with the red halo -- they probably look more red to the naked eye).

thx.

Re: I think Rambo is defect... :-(
a quick question. i can only find one place in config.h that says anything about cooling. and thats at the bottom saying: Extr. 1 extruder cooler speed (255). is that the only thing in config.h that have somthing to do with cooling?
