Z-Height Smash!
Z-Height Smash!
I think this is a calibration issue? have any pointers? I this is the second time I tried printing this and I calibrated the build height and the x y and z
Re: Z-Height Smash!
the base looks really good, is this pla?
Re: Z-Height Smash!
No, its abs I am still trying to get the fan shrouds printed, but I am having fitment issues.
the base isn't that great

Re: Z-Height Smash!
the pyramid is a good test for small area overhangs, but first thing you should be printing is the cube. did you do that? throw up pix
Re: Z-Height Smash!
I was having issues with the clear filament popping so, I switched to the green which was still in its bag. Florida is to damn humid.
Re: Z-Height Smash!
alright sorry thats my fault, i meant to say the calibration cube that gene mentions in the build manual. what slicer are you using? what temps do you have? it looks like you are running only walls/perimeters no infill? what is your movement speeds? do you have z lift?
popping is usually signs of moisture in the filament so you were right to switch, you can search here for posts about precooking filament in the oven to remove it.
with all these questions i am asking it might be easier if you just snap a screen shot of your settings windows and post it

Re: Z-Height Smash!
Bubbasnow, I don't specify the cube in the v2 manual - I have them print out the fan shrouds instead. It serves dual purposes that way.

Re: Z-Height Smash!
I tired to print the fan shroud again, No luck yet
. It seems like there isn't enough filament

Re: Z-Height Smash!
ok so if you got a .5mm nozzle your widths should be .55mm, the way you you have it set at .45 or lower will force too much material in smaller path.
i like top/bot layers fill pattern to be rectangular.
extra length on restart should = 0.
from what it looks like in those pictures is you aren't even getting a straight line/edge... I would take another hard look at your mechanical setup like belts, cheapskates, and arms.

Re: Z-Height Smash!
Always feel like the I have the cheapskates set up right, but never can seem to figure it out. The belts and the tension look good. Is there any good examples how much play it should have? The hot end was tight

This is how they should be set up? I did have one of the delta arms upside down

Re: Z-Height Smash!
yup no play, dont smash your end stop switch too many times.. they are cheap!
hook your belts back up make sure they are tight. but not too tight as to bend anything.
re-calibrate and run a print and see if it has fixed your straight line issue.

Re: Z-Height Smash!
Looks good so far. I printed a fan shroud out and it was pretty straight. The print did get detached from the bed near the end though so I need to print something again.
Re: Z-Height Smash!
keep the pix coming
