Hi all, Just got shipment notification for my Max today. I want to do painted edges and am looking for suggestions on prep/paint methods. I saw someone mention sealing the edges with wood sealer, or is multiple coats of primer sufficient? Will the paint thickness affect the fit of parts? Any other recommendations for the assembly to make it more "pretty" (although it is pretty awesome already)?

Did you seal or prime before painting?

I wiped the edges of the wood to clean the burn dust off of them, but I didn't sand or anything.
Then I stacked them with arrow staples, primed, and painted.
It makes for a tight fit in a few places, but I like it.

Aah man, I was going to do the blue too! "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" right? That is the look I'm after. Have to think about what other colors I could do, although I'm sure they've been done before. Thanks for the info!
