Queueing prints with Repetier-Host
Queueing prints with Repetier-Host
Hey everyone,
I'm using Repetier-Host for my Orion Delta printer and I was wondering if there was a way to Queue up prints, I can't seem to find any documentation on the subject. I'm using Curaengine as the slicer type and I use the SD card to transfer from the computer to the printer.
Thank you!

I am not the most knowledgeable person here, but I fail to see what the advantage or point is creating a que for the prints.
It is not like a paper printer que where it starts to print right after...
You have to attend to it between the prints. So what I do is put a number before the gcode files and the just prin them one after the other from the SD card.
Now if you are referring to placing multiple prints to be printed at the same time that is different. What you do is open one stl file and then add more stls to that. Repetier lets you position and orient them as you see fit.

Re: Queueing prints with Repetier-Host
I think there is a way in cura to be able to load multiple stls and then have them print sequentially. But all the parts to be printed have to be on the same g code file, not multiple files. I'll have to check around, but I remember someone telling me you can do that. Would something like that work for you?

Yeah I think that would work Davidf. And teoman, the reason why I want to print one piece at a time is 2 reasons, first one, time, the less the printer head has to move around the printer bed, the better. And 2nd, every time the print head moves from piece to piece, i notice it creates globs of extra plastic, or filament wires which cause the print to be a lot more messy looking, versus printing them 1 by 1.
Re: Queueing prints with Repetier-Host
ok did some checking around. Apparently this is somthing the "brown box" did when printing multiple objects and not a feature. You still may be able to splice some G code together to do it if you can figure out what kind of clearance you need for the effector between prints....

Yes but what would the advantage be?
Bed not cooling??

Compared to having a bunch of gcodes on the sd

You wouldn't have to go check when the print is done and start the new print, it would just automatically start it after it is done.
I guess I could copy paste the Gcode of a print at the end of another Gcode, i'll have to try that!

????
Not check on it??
And where would it start this new print? The old one is still on the bed. Unless you guys have made an automatic bed changer I just dont see how that would be possible.

Just add g-code to strike the first piece smartly on the side. It's already teed up just needs a chip shot to get it off the bed for the second piece.
I do it with binder clips all the time, layer fan hits them and they are never seen again.

Re: Queueing prints with Repetier-Host
Just make sure that when you slice them they are way way apart on the bed and in different locations so the effector doesn't crash into them...Squals6 wrote:You wouldn't have to go check when the print is done and start the new print, it would just automatically start it after it is done.

It would take smart placement of the models for sure, obviously cant have tall models close to each other, il make tests tonight

In that case I rcommend the sides of the circle that are between the towers.

Awwww, but wouldn't that possibly bring up some of the issues they were having in the "Weird Z0 behavior" thread?teoman wrote:In that case I rcommend the sides of the circle that are between the towers.
If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.

Well, unless you have some higher software calculating collision probabilities, that wkuld be a safe bet.
