looking to purchase a V2, but there seems to parts that you also need apart from the kit...
Con these parts be purchassed in a seperate kit.. or what else would be needed if I wasto buy a
model from recent version?

The kit comes with all the parts you need... there are some upgrades you can do but they aren't required. There are some supplies you need though, like kapton tape, threadlock, and rtv silicone. These are things you'll have to source on your own. Well said... Yep.
The stock kit is quite complete, but there are options and mods that many have bought additional parts for. If you order a kit, get some red RTV silicone and some crimp caps from the car parts store, find a soldering iron, and you ought to be good to go.

The stock kit is NOT complete! You'll need a bit of ABS to finish off the two fan shrouds, plus there are several "optional" items that you really should not skimp on. In addition there are some items (consumables) that you'll need. Download the instructions manual and make sure you have everything, including the optional items! and buy a spool of ABS or see if you can get some included if you purchase from a local shop.
Additionally, I'd say the most common upgrade is the motor dampeners. I just purchased some and they shipped yesterday. once you get into your build you'll quickly realize how big of a pain in the rear it would be to install these later. personally i havent had the opertunity to determine if they are worth the wait and $, but it seems like its been a unanimous yes!
Lastly, pay attention to the pictures on the wood in the instructions. my kit had some cuts missing and therefore my motor mounts were bigger then they were supposed to be. if something doesnt look right... it probably isnt.
