Hi, I have made a part using ABS on the pei bed as I have done many times, however this time I can't get it to release. The part broke off leaving about 1/4 inch stub. Does anyone have any trick to getting this off without damaging the PEI? It's about 3 inch diameter.
Thanks

Acetone. PEI is resistant to it, just put some on and it should melt the ABS away

You might also try refrigerating the build plate for an hour or so. I often have to attack mine with a 1" Butt Chisel and lever it up from the PEI.

I'm having the opposite problem. What temperature were your bed and hotend during the print, which side of the PEI did you use, and did you wipe it with alcohol or hairspray before printing?
Check out the Tri hotend!

I was printing at 75, 228. I use the glossy side because I like the shine and did not use anything prior to the print. I will rarely use alcohol.
Tried that but it wasn't tall enough to get a grip on.nitewatchman wrote:You might also try refrigerating the build plate for an hour or so. I often have to attack mine with a 1" Butt Chisel and lever it up from the PEI.

I have used blade screwdriver, you could try chisel. Just place it at small angle at bottom of part, and strike with hammer it's head. ~3 bottom layers could be damaged
3D printing is magic!
