Hey All,
I'm McDirty... I live up in Portland, OR and am very excited to join the community.
I am really excited, I'm a software developer by trade, and I'm just now wrapping my head around what I can accomplish with a 3d printer. I literally just purchased a Rostock Max V2. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be restless waiting on the shipment. Aside from the printer, I'd be interested to see what accessories you guys can recommend, what filaments to get and fiddle with, and any other constructive push starts you may have.

I plan on doing a build log with pics / video. Is there anything else you guys would like to see as a noob going for it the first time?

do you go to any 3d printing meetups? I'd be interested in getting a little club together if you are interested. I already lead the Unity 3d meetup here in town and am into game development as well. Check us out at Meetup.com/unitypdxdrwho wrote:The wait for it to arrive is filled with anticipation. We just received and started the build last weekend. I saw that your interested in doing quad copters. I'm also into FPV Racing quad copters! Check out the hobby shop on interstate for a good start at their quadcopter selection!

Hi McDirty!
I would like to welcome you to the Forum. It looks like you are going to fit in perfectly!
It would be great to see your photos and videos in your build log so in closing I say.
HAPPY BUILDING!!!

Re: I just pulled the trigger in Portland, OR
My printer finally arrived. I'm building it after I get off work at night. So about 5 hours a day. Yesterday I built the base up to the heated bed installation and stopped before doing the uprights. I flubbed up my initial unboxing/assembly recordings so I probably wont have much of a build video after all

How is the printer coming along? Is it finished? Is it printing? The suspense is killing me.
