My EEPROM configuration, without my permission, vanished!?

Post by wcogen »

I've been happily printing for a few days now. Using the printer as intended, to design and create parts for my product ideas and designs. Great. Today I made some improvements. I'll report on lessons learned in a few days, but, my EEPROM configuration changed while working on the machine.
I took the filament guide out of the wire sheath. I think that removed some stress on the hot end while printing. I also shortened both, something I've been meaning to do since building the MAX.

Next thing I know, the hot end is 100 mm off the print bed when it should be at 1mm. And no, I didn't make everything too short. Plenty of slack. I looked and discovered my EEPROM configuration settings and print history had vanished.

Did I save my settings in a config file? No.

Has anyone else had an experience like this.

Thanks,
Bill

I'm back in business. I calibrated the bed and hot end for temperature and a flat bed. I've saved the EEPROM configuration. Don't know what happened.

You can also export the EEPROM settings from Repetier Host if you use that program. If you export them every time you change something, it makes it easy to fix if you have to clear it out again later!
