Printer unused for awhile one Cheapskate slips

Sadly, my Pirate Ship Radio 3-D Print Project has had many delays. So my Rostock Max v2 has sat idle for months now. I started it up today and tried to print but one of the Cheapskates when it goes down to print it plummets down and stays there. I assume that over time a delta printer unused isn't healthy for it? It should be just a matter of tightening the cheapskate right? Or could it be anything else?

You're saying that there's nothing holding the bearing carriage in position? Is there any belt tension?

The pulley on the motor seems to be the cuulprit from what you describe.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

The one cheapskate seems to slip when it comes far down.
What could be the cause? How do I troubleshoot this? And fix it?

What condition is the belt in? I can't imagine there being much of a load on the motor when the arms are practically parallel with the bed.

Judging from the video I would say you are printing too large an item and the cheapskate has gone beyond its limit. Scale or make the model smaller.

Yep, you're pushing the limit on your printable area. The carriage is hitting the top of the frame and can't go any farther, so that sound is the belt skipping on the pulley. You need to reduce the setting that you've entered as your printable area. Set the radius to something like 130 or maybe 135 at most.

Printer radius includes carriage offset and platform offset also, it's not directly related to printable area. That value is used to calculate how the machine moves, and relates to the build dimensions of the aluminum extrusions instead of the print bed dimensions.

I was thinking that the "smooth rod" in the description meant the rods going to the platform. I now think what is meant by the description is the centerline for the axis of movement, in some printers this would be a linear bearing rod. So I think I was wrong and that the number in the Configuration.h is correct at 198.25.

So which parameter are you refering to here, is this something in the Configuration.h? Maybe DELTA_MAX_RADIUS?

Smooth rod refers to the linear rails and LM8 bearings that Johan's original Rostock was built out of instead of aluminum extrusions and skate-bearings that the Max uses.

Haha yes. I read it wrong. I thought it said 298 as a diameter. Duuhhhhh.
