Hi

Made this for a friend for his big Western Electric horns. Works quite well !!
Completely redesigned for better vertical beam, filled with sand 4,5kg heavy to prevent resonance.
Inner structure for more sturdier structure.
Outside a streamlined design that the sound from the backside of the big horn reflects not so hard as on the original JBL horn.
Print time for each part 50 hr ! Each horn printed in 2 parts, bonded with UHU C105 (sticks like hell !!)
Layerhight : 0.3mm
Speed : 25mm/sec
Infill : 100% ( Because completely constructed structure, that needs to be filled)
PLA total - 2,4kg
108 % Overfeeding
220°C (To be sure that the layers are melted perfectly)
Support : Constructed also the support by myself to avoid wasting PLA and to reduce printingtime

My little daughters befor they had to go to sleep the want to know if the printer has finished.

You can see here the inner structure. The filled sand reduces resonances nearly over 2millisec. and on some frequences over 12db and more but in summary 2-3db. This thing is accousticly dead.
As you can see above my friend put also a lead onto the thinner sides. Makes the result additionaly absolut perfect.
That horn works in radius from 90° vert. to 90° horiz. with max. falloff off 6db in frequency range from 900hz to nearly 16000hz! Really hard to compete this

Great job! That's a big speaker.

I built my hifi amplifiers and DAC, also a few speaker boxes. With the 3d printer I plan to make a small WiFi boom box for my daughter.
