Post by MKGrinch »

Hi Guys! sorry I haven't posted in a while! I have had my v2 for 3 months now. The first laptop I setup my printer on, is now being used by my kids for school work.. So I went out a bought another laptop for myself and the printer only! LOL My question is how do I setup this laptop with the same files with out going through the whole setup in the manual....I download all files from the manual..I am a total newb when it comes to this transferring files, any help would be appreciated and step by step instructions :D Thanks guys!!!!

You do not have to do anything.

What you did, the Eeprom settings etc are kept in the printer.

There is a single parameter you have to give your software and that is your Z height.

I would recommend installing mattercontrol off seemecnc site.

You will need to change you speeds and temperature settings but I find that trivial. There is also an option in the software that exports your temp settings etc... that you can import to your new software if you cannot be bothered.

So: your printers software (called firmware) will not change. This controls the hardware side of things. This part will not change.

your computer software controls what to do via gcode commands. And you have to tell it what you want (temperatures speeds etc...). This part will be new. But will be easy to setup again if you have been using your printer for 3 months.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.
