Hey Everyone,
I've had my Rostock Max V2 up and running for about 2 months now. Everything was running smoothly for about a month when I began to get some squeaking noises coming from the u-joints. I read the forum and saw it recommended in a few places to try white lithium grease or some dry teflon lubricant. I pulled off the arms and u-joints and applied white lithium grease to them. This helped for about a week and then the squeaking returned, and this time I noticed that the white grease was now black. I believe the metal u-joint is grinding on the glass filled nylon at the edges and the particles are turning the grease black. I cleaned everything up and then applied some Dupont Dry wax teflon lubricant, this reduced the noise but did not stop it.
Here is a video of the noise it makes, the noise is not constant.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has any suggestions on possible fixes?

Re: U-joints squeaking and grinding
Change out the aluminum joints for the newer acetal ones. SeeMeCNC sells the joint pack for $9. The grinding of the axle plates and effector will stop.
