Repeiter-Host to Matter Control

Post by mpyr6 »

I set up my Rostock Max v2 last night using the old manual and have configured the printer using Repeiter-Host. If I were to switch over to Matter Control could I use all of the EEPROM information from Repeiter-Host or must I run the tests again? Also, for the calibration process do I keep the hot end and hot plate active during the entire time? Thanks!

PS: Any good videos of the paper calibration? Just looking to confirm where I am at.

Eeprom is in the printer. So it stays there.
You can start usin mattercontrol whenever you want.

Yes idea is that the metals expand when hot. So size changes. You have to go hot all the way.

Well pretty much everything expands when its heated, thermal expansion. Just like most things shrink when cooled. Thats why you heat the bed too, even though its glass :P

Thanks guys. I went ahead and ran the calibration with everything hot.

Here is a picture of the partial print I got for my first try!

That overhang looks much cleaner than what I currently have on my printer. Well done.
