Explosion sound when connecting Rambo

Post by Av8r RC »

Hey all, new Max owner here.

I was getting all ready to start moving the axis' around tonight. But I have something very weird going on. Every time I plug my Rambo board in (via USB), I get this "explosion" sound (coming thru the computer speakers, animation sound). And have no COM3 listed when I try to setup Repetier or try to upload the newest firmware.

I've tried 3 other USB powered devises and get the normal sound when connecting them.

Any ideas? Is there something wrong with my never been used Rambo?

Thanks

Woohoo! I found out the problem. I had to install a Driver for the Rambo board. It moves, in the wrong direction. But at least it moves.

The details are found on pg.80 of geneb's assembly guide found here, http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=987

Good that you figured it out. If the motors move in the wrong direction you are either using an older firmware or you have wired them backwards. If you wired them correctly I recommend grabbing one of the newer firmwares like the one from polygonhell - life will be easier!

Yeah I'm going to upload the newest firmware tonight. It was already too late to do anything last night. I was content that I got the computer to at least recognize the Rambo board and the axis' moved.

Thanks
