grease your plastic bearings/gears

Post by drkow »

After a few prints the squeaking from my machine was driving me nuts.

Armed with Google, I learned that the recommended lubricant for the acetal/delrin bearings is triflow: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=765399

Other lubricants may cause the delrin to swell!

After greasing my gears and belt pulleys, the squeaks are gone, and I'm able to tighten the belts a little more to remove a bit of backlash.

I also learn a lot from the old threads. I am glad that they do not purge the old threads.
