Yeah I didn't like the switch on the Rostock Max. I kept having to hunt around for it. Figured I was eventually going to either stick my fingers in the fan for the power supply or not be able to find it in an emergency situation. So, lets move it to the front, where there is already a circle hole cut in the LCD panel. No wait. That switch sucks anyway. Lets use a new one!

That's a neat switch, how does it work, and where did you get it from?
How are you powering the lights, are you bringing 12V straight from the power supply and just turning them on/off with the old switch?

The switch is a typical e-stop switch used on CNC and other machinery as a safety "dead stop" switch. Google "e-stop" and you'll find lots of them. They are designed to latch, so when you activated it, you have to physically re-arm the switch (usually by twisting the knob). CNC software controllers like Mach3 see the e-stop signal and also disable the software until it is similarly reset but the real goal of the e-stop switch is to electrically disconnect everything that needs to be stopped in an emergency situation. My CNC milling machines are set up so the e-stop immediately stops all motion and cuts off the spindle motor.
I wonder if an e-stop like this could be integrated with the software e-stop button at the tip right of the Repetier host screen? RAMBo has a KILL_PIN (80) that could likely be used.

eaglezsoar, you quoted me but I suspect you meant to ask the original poster. I am using a different 12 V supply that does not have the enable circuit like a PC power supply. So, I have to switch the mains to the power supply. I haven't found a suitable switch to mount permanently yet though.
