My old process for getting prints off the build platform:
- Detach glass plate from print bed.
- Rotate glass plate to pass between towers. Be careful not to smack towers/print/hotend. Roll some dice on dropping the plate.
- Carry glass plate down two flights of steps. Dodge cat determined to trip me. Roll some dice on dropping the plate.
- Open freezer. Discover there is no room for plate.
- Place plate on kitchen counter. Shuffle food around to try and make space.
- Discover food smudge from kitchen counter on bottom of plate. Swear loudly.
- Roll some dice on smacking the plate with the freezer door while closing it.
- Wait 10-20 minutes.
- Hope the print has popped off. If not, soak the print in water for another 30 minutes.
- Dry plate.
- Carry plate back upstairs. Dodge cat. Roll some dice on dropping the plate.
- Replace plate on printer bed.
- Resume printing. Total time spent: 10 minutes - 1 hour. Risk of damaging plate: high

The new process:
- Wedge SeeMe tool at bottom of print.
- Tap lightly with hammer.
- Resume printing. Total time spent: 15 seconds. Risk of damaging plate: zero

Worth. every. penny.

What material and adhesion method are you using?

I use scotch permanent glue stick with ABS and the heated bed at 90C. The part pops off as soon as the plate cools down after the print. I wish I could get that good of adhesion though.

Traditionally I've been printing with PLA and Elmer's disappearing purple glue stick with bed at 60C. That's what I was referring to - and you might as well be printing on superglue in that case.

Lately I've been dabbling in ABS and you're absolutely right - once the bed cools to around 45C, the part pops itself off. Which I'm kind of enjoying actually, although now that I have this tool, it's kind of a moot point.

Is that anvil tossing?

I use one of the Razor scrapers that uses those disposable straight razors. Works a charm.
