Max V2 has the extruder motor mounted up top, unlike your V1. There exists the chance of crosstalk between the stepper wires, and the endstop wires on the V2s.

well quite honestly I struggle thru with the electronics end of things, but if you dont mind spending a bit of time with me I would do my best to help you sort thru this problem. I would also make you go thru the things you have all ready went thru for trouble shooting purposes and even though you have all ready went thru them I would expect you to do it again and not just fake it and say yes its this. But you have to be willing to spend some time sorting this out and not just looking for a quick answer.

I finally watched the second video posted, and because of the sporadic movements, I'd also say that you may have some electrical crosstalking going on, just not up top. I would suggest checking all the wiring down below, and isolate the stepper motor wires from the rest of the wiring.

If that doesn't work, see if you can convince someone to test your board on their machine.

I have tried isolating the endstop/stepper wires from one another as best I can in the limited confines of the electronics bay with no apparent change in behaviour. I'm tempted to try throwing ferrite donuts on the endstop wires just to see if it makes any difference. Thoughts on this?

I have mixed feelings about this:

• That probably would kill any crosstalk between the steppers and the endstop wires (if you put the chokes near the RAMBo)
• This really shouldn't be necessary if you're keeping the wires separate, but given the trouble you've been having...

Well it's only a few bucks for a cheap pack of chokes from the regular places so i'm not really out anything if they don't work. however i've never had to incorporate them into a build before so i don't know if there is some particular size or something i should be looking for.

Well it turned out that the chokes didn't help at all, it was in fact a grounding issue causing the gremlins. at this point i should be ready for my first print but slice3r is generating some funky gcode. i mean the test cube looks right and everything but it is trying to print it centered on the edge of the bed between the X and Z towers. any thoughts of great oracles of the interwebtubes?

Check to make sure your slicer machine settings are configured for a round bed with 0,0 at center.

Haha ill be sure to share the victories when they come, but it looks like today is still not the day. something is still screwy with my PRINTER_RADIUS. the nozzle sits a touch further above the center of the bed than it should. it seems like changing the PRINTER_RADIUS value isn't affecting the nozzle height either. i'm lost...
