This piece was modeled in Rhino, it was then sent to China and carved via a traditional process. If you look closely, you can see tool marks.

Prolific sculptor Do Ho Suh, these were a model for a larger sculpture, I think they were printed in resin and then cast. The final piece has approximately 50,000 of these small figures. Scale=I could probably fit about two figures on my thumbnail

Hi All, just wanted to share some images from an exhibition featuring pieces made with digital technologies. This is currently on display at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I took a few quick images today after finishing teaching my first class of the new semester. Most forum members may have already seen some of the work in the show as some of the work was highly publicized when made, hopefully you haven't seen all of this work. The show is called Beyond The Buzz. The opening is this Friday at 6:00 pm for those in the Minneapolis area. Free to the public.

Hi Jfettig, I believe the skulls are printed in Nylon.I looked at his website and it looks like he sells them in silver and gold, though it looks like he is sourcing out the printing. Do you teach in Minneapolis? I've only been at MCAD for two years .

I was a student at the time, my teachers thought I could be an artist because I could sculpt clay quite well :p

I'm an engineer now.
