I'm currently printing the setup for the Xnaron magnetic arms and effector (https://github.com/xnaron/Xnaron-Magnarms-for-Rostock)
Does anyone have a STL or link that allows a dial indicator to be mounted to the effector? I have a cheapo harbor freight kind with a mounting tab in the rear. http://www.harborfreight.com/1-inch-tra ... r-623.html
This can be somewhat permanent as-well as I'm making an effector just for the dial indicator.
Dial indicator STL for effector?
Re: Dial indicator STL for effector?
Actually I might be over thinking it a bit. I suppose I could try my hand at designing something as simple as a circle with the same mounting holes as the effector and a center hole that would snugly hold the base of the dial indicator. /eviltapsonthedesk
Now where to start.....

Re: Dial indicator STL for effector?
There is a simple one with a hole that the ~$15 HF dial indicator fits through quite nicely.
I printed it, tried the dial indicator through it, but.... have never got around to actually MEASURING with it.

Re: Dial indicator STL for effector?
Here is one I designed, that indicator should have a 3/8" shank - I designed it to 3/8" and my printer prints holes a hair small so I drill-reamed it with a 3/8" drill bit which still kept it small but the indicator presses right in. Its for the stock end effector so if yours is straight, it'll work. I believe its designed to have nuts pressed in IIRC

Awesome!, Thank you, that should work perfectly.

I use the TrickLaser mount quite a bit. It's pretty handy. http://www.tricklaser.com/Pen-Tool-hold ... RM-PTH.htm
HeathenX's design is also excellent: http://repables.com/r/343/

Thanks all, I ended up going with the STL posted above which worked great on first print.
I'm all set to go magnetic, just waiting for the E3D V6 to show up Monday and get it installed on the yellowjacket board.
Still need to workout the layer cooling, but that should be easy enough.
Honestly, I'm impressed with the stock setup. Just took a bit of calibration and fine tuning. But now I got that itch play with the more exotic materials, and make some show pieces worthy of calling it art.
