Complete self destruct :( :(

Post by tom10122 »

My x-carrage is no longer, my computer froze on the lowering of the z- axis to start a new print and kept going while I was away for 5min. I had my own diy version of linear bearings which worked great until it broke. It either saved my base from warping or screwed me . Really pissed now, Need to rewire the hotend resistors, need to find a way to get my linear axis back. Will hotglue stick well to the injection molded ABS? If I can scrounge up one linear bearing then I may be in good shape if the hotglue sticks, I already have 2 back up bearings and one made it through. If not then I do not know what to do . Can't go back to seemecnc's version because I was cheap and didn't get the metal bearings. This sucks really can't believe it happened.

Tom, if you need anything from us, let me know. I'll help you get 'er back to life. Don't worry. you should have seen some of the amazing things the rostock MAX did while i was learning the firmware! Did you know that the parallel mechanism can tie pretzel shaped knots out of the arms? Who woulda though?

Thanks John I appreciate it, Luckily the hotglue stuck and I am printing now :) First thing I did was print out extra parts in case it happens again. I have a very simple linear x-carriage now that works pretty good. Also Jake, They are great guys I have sent them a bunch of emails when I was building mine and they helped A lot.
