Hotend Temperature inconsistent at high levels

Post by milp »

Hi there,

I'm having the problem that my hotend temperature is inconsistent at high levels used for ABS printing. For example if i set 232 °C it will stay at around 228, if i set 228 it will stay at around 225. It is not very stable, there is too much fluctuation compared to when i use the hotend for PLA printing at 190 °C.

I've freshly recalibrated the PID values using M303 S200 as stated in the Manual.

Now since S200 specifies the temperature i was wondering if maybe i should redo this PID Calibration for a higher temperature, like 230°C?

Yes, ideally you should calibrate it for the exact conditions you will use it at.

Some even do the calibration while extruding which cannot hurt.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.
