Matter Control problems?

Hi all, I've been having problems lately. I connect the printer to Mattercontrol and then slice and export the model to an SD card. Once I select the file from the menu, the LCD shows the correct target temps for the bed and hot end but nothing happens. I usually adjust temps on the LCD before connecting to Matter control, now once I connect.. the hot end pulses on and off (I have a few LED lights connected to the Peek fan so I can actually see the LEDs pulsing on and off as if it's shutting off and restarting. The only change I've made is a Matter control update. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? One other thing that may or may not be connected. When I attempt to use sli3er I always get an error message.
