Guide to Retraction calibration?

Post by shentheory »

Hey all, after some searching around here I was unable to find any obvious guides to calibrating retraction. I've seen all kinds of models for retraction testing, but I'm noob enough not to really know the process for the Max v2. Any links or tips would be appreciated!!!

try 50mm/s speed, 5.4mm distance. Extrusion temperature also affects the retraction performance, too high of a temp being adverse for results.

It's trial and error to discover what works best but my settings are at 15mm/s @ 4.00 retraction distance. Pop over to repables or thingiverse and find a retraction calibration model to print.

I'm pretty lost with this as well, as I can't figure out where in MatterControl where to even configure the retraction distance :/

It's under the Settings / Filament tab / Filament section. Check the square box "show help" that will give a brief description what each setting does.

I'm using 2mm @ 45mm/sec for ABS, and generally drop that to 20mm/sec for PLA. No stringing, no blobbing.
