pre-wired interface adapter for lcd panel?

Post by cassetti »

Seriously, I'll pay someone to pre assembled an adapter.

I reviewed the pdf instructions twice now and have more doubt i can do this part myself........ Is there any supplier that sells an adapter for the rambo board included with the kit?

Thanks!

seemecnc now sells adapter kits for the lcds http://shop.seemecnc.com/LCD-to-RAMBo-a ... 2RAMBO.htm

still requires some soldering but shouldn't be as difficult. Although I have not received my kit yet to verify.

Man day late dollar short. Cost me 35$ for terminals and ends with a pair of crimpers to build a whole new cable. Oh well I can always use more tools.

Really? Phew! I can manage soldering a *few* pcb's but the other instructions had me crosseyed! I'll give them a call tomorrow morning and see if they haven't shipped my kit yet to add that to the order.

all new rostock kits with lcd will come with the new adaptors now, so if your kit hasn't shipped you will be getting it too.

So with the newest kit we don't have to cut the wires?
It came plugged into a smart adapter?
I have no idea what to do with this

Good to see they got this sorted out. Just one more unnecessarily annoying thing for new users eager to get printing asap.

I built my own using the cable and soldering it to some headers I had lying around - no crimping required. I like new tools, but my love for new tools is eclipsed by my cheapness. The soldering was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, couldn't have taken more than 30-40 minutes from start to finish, and minimal swearing.

I still might buy one of those new dealies, since I'm worried about my solder job coming apart if I open and close the door too much.

John announced he was including them last monday around the 4th of march so any shipments after that "should" have them included.

Just a followup - I ended up ordering the adapter just in case with a note to be added to my other order number. On Wednesday Julie refunded me the order and informed me it was included with the kit. My kit arrives tomorrow. I'm half considering to take off a day or two this week just so I can build it  This will be my second printer so I'm not tooo worried.
