Why is my nozzle moving aside and wait 10 seconds, restart printing for 3 seconds, move aside and wait, etc.....
is it from the Rostock Max printer itself? From the printing file? From Mattercontrol?
I'm confused. Bed and nozzle temperature are as it should.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Serge

Re: Moving Aside and Wait
I'd put the blame on mattercontrol. Check the cooling section, I recall seeing something in there to allow the tip to move away to allow the part to cool.

Well Mac The knife, you are right. I just unchecked the "enable extruder lift" in the cooling section and it resolved it.
Thanks
Thanks

Are you printing a very small part?

Re: Moving Aside and Wait
Thats the only feature I miss about Cura over KISS. Only issue with it was it didn't have its own retract length setting so it oozed on my print or worse sometimes.
Re: Moving Aside and Wait
Teoman, yes I am printing quite small stuff.
in fact I was trying a bunch of different settings, fooling around a bit, and forgot that I have checked this "enable extruder lift", which I still do not understand what is it about since I thought the extruder was lifting at each "blank" moves. i still have a long way to go to understand all the concepts.

Re: Moving Aside and Wait
I think it is the minimum layer time setting.
This exists so that the last laayer has time to cool down before the new layer comes on top.
Its under filament > Cooling > Cooling thresholds
Turn on the details and everything should become obvious on what it does.

Re: Moving Aside and Wait
i see,
So when I enabled the extruder lift it was just taking a break beside the print while waiting for 4o seconds (the minimum time set right now).

Re: Moving Aside and Wait
And indeed what it does is necessary to print small parts.
But the forums recommendation is to print 2 of the parts at the same timr. This gives the part time to cool.
