Rostock Max V2 w/ Tricklaser etc for sale.
Hey guys... Anyone interested in a modified and added to rostock max v2?
1. 3 layer fans (from Seemecnc) (one in each location) for perfect cooling of PLA, Bronzefill etc.
2. Tricklaser arms
3. Peek fan of course.
4. Extra sheet of glass (from Seemecnc)
5. Sheet of PEI connected to one of the pieces of glass.
I figure i have
$999 -kit
$35 - glass
$36 - layer fans
$10 - peek fan
$20 - PEI
$80 - tricklaser arms.
So just shy of $1200 in the printer. I can provide pictures of TONS of prints ive done with it, included the TREX skull and others
here are a few

Even got some softer filaments to work (ill include an extruder that i ordered online. works pretty well).

I think I need to look in a different direction. I have had steady enough work with this printer (can only really do 1 part at a time , they are big) where as I need to increase my build volume.
Anyone in the Des Moines, Omaha, Minneapolis or anywhere in between looking want a crack at this first? so i dont have to ship it?
Probably looking in the 850-900 range, which ive researched, with the add ons etc is really fair.
thanks guys

if i do need to ship it, how have folks generally done that? would you have to take the axis arms down and just fold it all up?
thanks

Re: Rostock Max V2 w/ Tricklaser etc for sale.
A couple of reasons.
1. It has a large build volume, but ive (and others) have had a hard time printing near enough to the edges to use a lot of the real estate. I just finished a large job (with some repeat business coming) that i could only print 1 part at a time) where as a larger machine i can do 4.
2. Banding on square parts. Even when i could only print 1 part at a time , the banding on the straight sides was pretty horrendous. A problem my cartesian printer did not have an issue with. However, I just got trick laser arms (saw no improvement initially). and just recalibrated and leveled and re wires (replaced the board fan too). Zip tied things, cleaned em up etc. At least right now it appears i have the most level and perfect bed (and first layers) ive ever had on this printer. So ill see in a minute (test print) how the banding is.

Out of curiosity, what are you thinking of getting that will meet your requirements?

Looking at a lulzbot taz5. Im not upset with the rostocks volume at all, but the circular nature of the bed means I cant print these four rectangle parts that i need to. I can do 4x items on the taz with only slightly larger bed, because of the rectangle nature of it.
thanks

Did you figure out if this beast can be shipped intact?
What do the experts at SeeMeCNC say?

I havent inquired... If i need to ship it, i assume ill have to just take the axis arms down, then it should compress well enough to get in a decently large box
others have sold them on here before, so im sure they are shippable somehow

They made the Orion the size that it is on purpose because it would be cost prohibitive to ship anything larger. Your best bet is probably to break it down a little.
Re: Rostock Max V2 w/ Tricklaser etc for sale.
It's not so much cost-prohibitive, it's that they could never successfully ship a fully assembled one and have it arrive in one piece!

We use expanding foam to create two sided casts for delicate shipments, kind of like below. Have no idea what the cost of that would be to have it packed/shipped though commercial means.
This might be your best bet.
