Not sure where to start...
Not sure where to start...
I had my Rostock Max v2 up and running great. My son was printing out a project when we noticed the heating element wasn't shutting off. I tried cancelling the print job but it wouldn't respond. I have a Yellowjacket quick change board on it and when the indicated temperature hit 251 (it was set at 228) I pulled the plug out of the yellow jacket board to kill power to the hot end. The unit shut down. No big deal I thought, probably melted the hot end but I had an E3Dv6 just waiting to go in and mounted on its own yellow jacket. So I hooked everything up and turned on the power and the only thing that happened was that the fan on the power supply came on... nothing else. No power up screen, no flashing lights on the board...Nada. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Check your fuses,,,, the RamBo has three of them.

I checked the fuses, even switched out the F2 fuse from another board... nothing but the fans. thank you though

Re: Not sure where to start...
You mentioned another board? I'm assuming its a RAMBo. Try swapping them out (if you can), something may have happened to it. If it resolves things then your old board has some issues. Ultimachine can repair them (they manufacture them). Either way you should check your wiring, it may be faulty and causing the controller to fail.
Re: Not sure where to start...
The other board had the Z controller chip went bad... I went through the wiring to make sure everything was alright, nothing melted burned or shorted. I went ahead and ordered some new parts (board and power supply) so I can replace one at a time. If its the board I'll send it back and have it fixed for another spare. I wish I had more time to troubleshoot, but my son has a science project coming up and we have lots of body parts to print
