After seeing this in person at MRRF, I don't think pictures are going to do it justice.

Despite the inference in the hackaday article headline it is only chocolate colored, not flavored... It is the closest filament color that could be believable as wood (it just wouldn't look right in say blue).

It looks like wood in the picture. If you wanted it to be "really wood" you could've done it in woodfill :D

Theres someone using an upsilon on the printer behind your print, do you know how well that worked? Sorry to get offtrack.

Woodfill would have been a bit pricey for the size, plus I think I would have needed to print slower and I was on a pretty tight schedule. Still now I regret not picking up a roll from the print solid while I was at MRRF.

I didn't check out the printer behind me too much, though it seemed to print fine.

that is UNREAL guys... very cool.. am i correct is assuming the detailed parts were printed face down as panels and glued in to place?

Yes, the panels were printed flat and glued together. There were 120 pieces in all.
