E3D-Lite6: A new replacement for the SeeMeCNC Hotend?
E3D just introduced the E3D-Lite6 model of hotend for £21.50 (~$24). It supports 1.75mm bowden and direct and fits in any E3Dv6 mount. It supports up to 245 deg C print temps as well. Perhaps it's time for SeeMeCNC to drop the inferior PEEK hotend for this should the price allow for it? This one can't be that much more than the PEEK hotend and when overheated you simply need to replace a £0.33 (about the same in USD) part rather than a whole $9 PEEK section.

And its easy to upgrade. The V6 heatsink is the only change from a V6 and a V6lite, VS a whole 30-60 for a new hotend if you're trying to upgrade from the SeeMe.
Though SeeMe is working on a new hotend that they are releasing with ERIS if thats still the plan...

I see absolutely no purpose. The SeeMeCNC hot end is actually quite fantastic. If you're having problems overheating... figure those problems out? I don't see any great improvement from this compared to the SeeMeCNC hotend.

I don't think it's an improvement but it would alleviate some of the issues and external supplies people have to deal with when building the current hotend.

No argument there. It definitely looks easy to assemble. I still haven't got around to trying my v6 out, the stock hot end works so well and I'm so busy with orders. I need a second printer to be able to upgrade.

The E3D hotend Absolutely blows the SeeMeCNC hotend out of the water. Faster heat up, Higher ultimate temps and most importantly STABLE extruder temps. I made a couple of small mods to my SeemeCNC hotend that addresses your issues. I went to the extremes with two 40 watt cartridges, and machined a piece of stainless tube to replace the peek plastic section. I can print weed trimmer line with no problems. and the teflon tube is holding up well. I guess you could attach a second cartridge to a E3D with some bailing wire,,,,

Heck for the cost of the new Lite6, it's almost cheaper to buy that and cannibalize it for parts to repair a V6.
MatterHackers wants $17.00 for a .4 v6 nozzle, add the heater cartridge, thermistor, fan/shroud and a new block... it's hard to beat for a few extra spare parts.
