Imperfections

Post by cyber.shifter »

Greetings!

So, I am assembling my new Rostock Max v2 kit, and got to the assembly of the cheapskates. They went together fine, but when I moved onto adjustment, I had a bit of trouble. Two of them were adjusted fine, but one is giving me trouble. It sounds like the "clicking" of an improperly adjusted roller, but it's actually catching. I examined the "tires" on the bearing and there is an imperfection in the surface that is in contact with the tower. The cheapskate is adjusted perfectly finally (no torquing on any of the axis, falls at the same speed as the others, etc.) but it's still making the clicking noise because of the imperfection. I tried to clean it up, but the noise is still there. Should I get a new "tire" for the bearing, or is it not going to affect my printing?

You ought to email SeeMe's tech support. If you've got an imperfect part right out of the gate, I'm sure they'll take good care of you.

Yeah, I plan on doing that, but I was also wondering if I should suspend assembly until I take care of that issue. I really would like to get on with the assembly so it isn't scattered all over my apartment forever. :-P I can't imagine that it will do much harm, but I'm new to this whole thing, so I don't want to bank on my conclusions alone.
