Middle layer issues. No longer solid parts.
Having some middle layer issues. There's also some noticeable top and bottom problems, but it's more noticeable in the center.
Tried printing slow, but it came out poor regardless. Recently recovered from a clog/jam on the hot end. Replaced .5mm nozzle with .35mm I had on hand.
Using a Rostock MAX V2.
Recently calibrated:
X,Y,Z -- Bed Center and Horizontal radius
Extruder test -- It appears to be dead on or very close to extruding and retracting 100mm
It also appears to hold temperatures without any issues.
Print settings:
PLA
.3 layer height
using .35mm nozzle -- other one was clogged
20% infill

Pictures of prints. The cube printing is a 2x the size of the calibration cube. Not sure whats causing the rot.
When I tried to pull the 2x cube off the glass, it actually was so weak that it separated.

I'm not sure if this will help the issue, but try to drop your layer height to .20
.35 nozzle printing at .30 doesn't seem like enough squish on the filament.
What temp are you printing?

Give a whirl and maybe try 220ish. I have some PLA that runs at 190 and others pushing almost 230 to lay a decent layer down.

I also cleared epprom yesterday and uploaded the repetier 91 code, went through calibrations again, deleted and reinstalled Mattercontrol, went through initial changes to the settings, imported quality and filament ect. Prints still have the same issue. Unless there's a Mac slicer issue, it now appears to be hardware related.

With a .35 nozzle, you'd be better served with a .15 to .20 layer height.

As said above, lower the layer height.
A good general rule: Layer heights should be less than 80% of the nozzle size. So for a 0.35mm nozzle, MAX 0.28mm layer height.
Also, try to increase the infill overlap.
What's your retraction and speed? lower that too

I'll try the above recommended and reply when I get home. I was having these issues with a .5 nozzle as well, no change with the new .35 nozzle.

Infill speed: 40mm/s
Perimeters: 30mm/s
Retraction Speed: ? Don't remember
Layer Height: .15
Hot End temp: 210, I lowered it down to 190c.
Came out like crap, very similar to what the pictures show.

Occasionally manufactures will miss label filament. But since you couldn't print at 220, I doubt this is the case for you.
Worth a try I suppose.
