Yes, one of the spacers came un-stuck from the bed during the print. I can't get the bed any hotter than about 83C (the target temp was 90C and it never reached that point - I suspect my wire diameter is insufficient (using 2 pair of 18ga)).
The material is window tint on a borosilicate glass bed, which in turn is on mhackney's aluminum spreader plate.
Hadn't heard the window tint idea yet. How does it hold up under printing? How often do you have to replace? Are you also using hairspray or another binder?
I have a similar temp issue. Planning on installing another pair of wires when I install mhackney's plate. Just need to find time.
It's my understanding that the tint material is PET tape, which has been recommended as a build surface. I've tried hair spray on the bare metal and it didn't turn out well. I've also tried hairspray on bare glass and that didn't work so well either. I strongly suspect the lower temperature to be a contributing factor to the print adhesion failures.
