Turn off the heat bed?

Post by BTP »

Hello,
I'm using a Buildtak printing surface on my V2 and I've noticed that after a print has finished and the bed comes down to room temp, the prints are almost impossible to remove from the bed. If I heat the bed back up, I can remove them pretty easily. Now, I've been having issues with ABS parts that have a lot of surface area curling up in the corners, which is very frustrating. My thoughts are if I could print the first few layers with the bed heat on and then have it turn off, that I would get a stronger first layer bond, hopefully eliminating my warping issue. I'm using Matterslice, is there a way to do this? I guess I could just go in and manually edit the gcode?

Or another thought I had was to print on the Buildtak with no heat. Not sure if it will stick though.

Just something I've been kicking around. Any thoughts?

So you want print over an ABS cold layer?
I don't think thats a good idea. :P

If your layers are curling try:
+temp onyx.
abs juice / uhu / kapton.
heated chamber.

For me, bed at 115º + kapton + uhu it's a great combo.
