I am trying to print the mounting piece for my e3d v6 that came in the mail, I am using this model http://repables.com/r/296/ provided by doodadoes.
Print settings:
Stock Hot End
Slicer - Cura
100 micron
235 extruder
-print on the right was done @ 230
100 bed
I have tried 80 bed, and it seems to work a little better.
No layer fan
50mm print speed
Woflbite - printing directly on glass
Repetier Host - Controller
3mm brim
Hatchbox cheapo filament from amazon
Infills I have tried
25%
40%
75%
I just recently calibrated my printer again, but it is done much better this time around than other prints I have made with PLA that have turned out beautifully, so I am surprised as to why this is happening.
The pillar that is having a large amount of problems faces the X axis. The model itself pretty much lines up with the towers on the printer in terms of where the prints pillars are. The only weird thing that has happened recently is that after failing the first print and starting a new one the X axis cheapskate seemed to be loose, it is correctly tightened now (at least I think) and I am having this problem still.
This filament has worked very well for my shroud fan, with the same print settings of 235/80 if I recall correctly. After I printed off my two fan covers I switched to PLA because of bed adhesion problems with ABS and some other reasons. Wolfbite fixes all of that, strongly recommend it.
I am mostly concerned about the terrible looking pillars, and how the print seems to be contracting on the sides, there should be 90 degree angles between the sides/top/bottoms as I understand.
Any Ideas? Thanks.

The way that the top/side edges overhang (I assume it's supposed to be square) and how "puffy" the top layer appears, I think you're over-extruding. Perhaps your material is a different diameter than before or you adjusted your flow multiplier for PLA?
I'd drop it 10% as a test and see what happens.

Slow way down. 50mm/s is too fast for those small posts. Try 30mm/s.

Re: Trouble printing ABS with previously working settings.
@Jimustanguitar, There is a good chance that the diameter has changed. I have tried it at just a normal 1.75 as well as my corrected diameter with more or less the same results, but I will check again.
I have not changed my flow-rate either between my PLA or ABS, and I checked the esteps last week and it is properly calibrated. I am excited to see what happens when I adjust my melt flow since I haven't had a chance to adjust it yet however.
I will try slowing down and adjusting flow and see what happens.

Re: Trouble printing ABS with previously working settings.
I agree with JFettig. I'd print wayyyy slower. 15-20 mm/s might be appropriate.
I had similar trouble trying to print my layer fan shroud at one point and I think the issue was exactly that, I was trying to print such a small thing at my regular print speed and it looked like blobbly garbage, pretty similar to what you're showing.

Re: Trouble printing ABS with previously working settings.
I reduced the feed rate by 10% and adjusted the speed to 30mm and it turned out much better.
Thank you for the help.

When you're chasing a problem like this (or any other!), only change ONE THING AT A TIME.
