What do you have your Rostock printers sitting on?
What do you have your Rostock printers sitting on?
Hello,
What type of table do you have your Rostock on? Is it just a workbench? Or is it a custom workbench that you built specifically for the Rostock? Or is it even on a table? Pictures would be nice.
I just finished my Rostock assembly. It's on our living room wooden floor at the moment. I would like to get a table or perhaps make my own sturdy table before I start calibrating this beast. I'll post pictures when I've decided. As of now, I'm looking at; http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-Fo ... Z12l1Z12l2

Re: What do you have your RoStock printers sitting on?
I use a little square end-table, the top of a bookcase, the top of a filing cabinet, a workbench and a folding table....
Also it's "Rostock", not "RoStock".

If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.

Yep. Short, drinks like a fish, and has an attitude more suited to a printer twice its size.

My rOsToCk sits on an old metal filing cabinet in the study. Rattles like crazy during prints and I'm sure putting it on something more solid would improve the print quality marginally, but the quality is good enough as is that I can't be bothered moving it.

Re: What do you have your Rostock printers sitting on?
Mine is sitting on a small wood coffee table from the 1990s. I put a 2x2 foot 1/2 inch thick EVA foam mat between the printer and the table to reduce resonance from the stepper vibrations. I also have stepper dampers on the Rostock; between the dampers and the foam mat the thing is barely audible. Before the foam mat I found that the table and the floor cause a significant percentage of the Rostock's noise.
Check out the Tri hotend!
