@travelphotog These really coming along. They look great. I want to add this to the budget. I have seen $35, is that right? Strongly considering one of these for the e3d v6 I just installed.

Hope all goes well with the move and Im happy for you having more time to tinker and mill, that is the dream.

Sign me up, these look great. The printed E3D V6 mount i'v been using starts out tight with no play but after about 10 hours it loosens up. Reprinted, mounted, recalibrated, and still does it again :/

Hey Guys,

Well everything seems to have made it in the big move from Johnson Space Center in Houston over to Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. I am in the seemingly never ending process of unpacking everything. We have a great new room for the mills and I just about have the Shapeoko 2 set up. My new X Carve from Inventables arrived a few days ago and I am working out what Spindle and controller I wish to use with it shortly. The big mill is still in a crate as I work to get the whole room unpacked and everything put away so there is space in the mill room for it and the large enclosure it will live in. I am also in the process of reordering all my anodize dyes and setting all that back up. Understandably the moving company was not keen to move the dyes or acids used in anodizing. So I am working to get everything put back together and back on track after the move. The timing on the move could hardly have been worse, but the new larger house and Michelle's great new job were just things would could pass on.

I know many folks want these mounts and I am working very hard to get everything up and going again.

So the long awaited day has arrived for everyone. The Shapeoko is back to work at long last. The new milling bays are pretty much finished and the OKO is hard at work cutting carbon spacers. We had to dump all our wet anodizing dyes for the move but a wider range of colors is on the way and the new and improved anodize line will be up and running shortly also. I am working on finishing the Carve build that Inventables sent me for testing. The new mill will have a .8kw VFD 1HP spindle which should speed things up a bit. Also working now to get the big mill enclosed and up and running. The OKO will be pulling all the weight for a bit longer but we will soon have all three mills up and running to get caught up. I have a few out of town jobs in the books this month but then it is vacation time again for a few months and I will be working hard in ALL my free time to get caught up and have mounts out for everyone. Sorry the move had such bad timing with the mount production. Packing everything up and moving across the country is NOT my idea of fun, but I will say we love the new place and are working hard to get everything back up and running.

Things are starting to get back t normal around here and the OKO is up and running once again. Fresh batches of lock rings were milled today as we await the large order of Anodize dyes to arrive. Very shortly we will have stock built up and the link will be sent out for ordering. Sorry for all the delays guys! We are working hard to get caught up!

I hope to. I have not had the chance to hook one up and test how reacts to long term printing. I hope to check this in the nexr week or so by switching out the heat sink and see how it reacts. Some concerns have been raised by some folk with knowledge in the anodizing field which i want to test and address before I offer anything for sale on that front.

Makes perfect sense. I just think Blue MAX would look really cool with a blue anodized mount and a yellow (or as close as possible) anodized hot end.

I am heading home in the AM from my week long shoot in Chicago and I will be jumping right back on the mill tomorrow night and Tuesday I will be getting the new and improved anodizing line setup and running. I ordered in all new dyes and such and even expanded the selection to over a dozen colors to chose from. I will keep you guys updated. I also bit the bullet and ordered an auto tap head. So that alone will reduce issues and give a much higher quality product for everyone. Right now the plan is to mill up a good stock of mounts, spacers and lock rings. Then we will send out the ordering link in the order of which we received requests. Then we will post a public link for anyone who wishes to order one after the early supporters mount orders have been filled. We ask that you do not share the early order link when you get it so that we can get the early supporters orders filled and mailed. We will limit the orders to milled mounts on hand so no one pays for a mount that is not yet milled. I am not comfortable taking orders for mounts that are not yet milled at this stage. So please bear with us if it says "sold out" when you hit the link. I will be milling daily if needed to keep up. Michelle is finishing up the website this week and I will be milling like mad. We will update when we are close to sending out the links.

I plan to use my anodized heatsink and heater block for the volcano this week and will report back how it does. I expect some issues with the heater block but doubt I will see any on the heatsink. I will post pics and such once I have results.

It would make sense to not even try anodizing the heater block - it's typically wrapped anyway.

No you did not really miss anything. I just travel every week 3 or 4 days a week for work so I can not always get online or mill as often as I wish i could. We just moved to the Marshall Space Flight Center area for the wife's job with NASA and had to pack up all the mills. I just wrapped up my travel season and have the next 2-3 months off. I am currently setting up the mills once again and working to get the anodizing line back up and running after the move. I want as much as anyone else to get these things flying out the door as I have hundreds of hours of print time on mine and it has worked almost flawlessly. The one flaw I found in bounding the carbon fiber spacers has been addressed and fixed. I should have the anodizing line up by the weekend. We just got in the new RODI holding tank so the system now has pure water on hand instead of grabbing it from the store when needed.

Being out of town and moving really just put be way behind and I am working to get everything back in order once again after the move. I have a few new things to show for the mounts also but still doing testing before I roll them out. Thanks for understanding the delays guys.

Thanks for the update man, I know everyone is just chomping at the bit(me included)...its a tough situation to be in, but I appreciate your candor and your willingness to hold off until you feel confident in your final product! That is the mark of a true craftsman!

Hey Guys! Sorry I have been sort of MIA. I have been working hard to get everything all set up and building up bit of stock on the parts for the mounts. Learning a whole new CNC mill was an adventure and one I am still not 100% finished with yet.
