Heated Chamber delta

Post by jaguarking11 »

I finally finished my my heated chamber on my delta printer.

This is the result.

I am using an automotive 100w heater controlled with a 12dollar thermostat. Its working fine so far. 50c is as high as I have gone, not hotend issues being force cooled with internal air.

Any questions or comments?

At what point in the video do you show how you installed the heater? I skipped the part where you clean the hotend with the stove, otherwise I watched the whole thing.

Is this the type of heater you're talking about? http://www.amazon.com/Kats-24100-Watt-U ... B000I8VL3O

For some reason I don't get the e-mail alerts from this forum.

The heater is certainly the 12v automotive heater. Mine looks exactly like the one posted. http://www.amazon.com/Roadpro-12V-Heate ... car+heater

So far the heater can maintain about 50c in the chamber, no need for fresh air cooling for the hot end either. 50c air is enough to prevent jams. One thing I added was a 140mm fan with standoffs to the top of the printer to push the hot air down. I have absolutley no warping with this setup so far. I am very very happy. As a matter of fact I can drop the bed temp to 100c even with no fear of delamination. The down side is that the prints take 5-10 minutes to pop off as the bed temp has to drop to 60-70c before I can remove it. I have a small blower fan ontop of the printer to evacuate the hot air and filter out the fumes through a charcoal filter.
