I was away for a month and then my printer was offline with a number of issues:
- the teflon tube in the extruder was compresses/constricted and preventing filiment from flowing freely
- Quick connect fittings on the bowden tube stopped grabbing the tube and needed replacement
- I also upgraded to the new extruder nozzle
So I'm finally back to trying to print again... (Still need to install Onyx platform and LCD controller, but that's another project) FOr now I just want to get a few successful prints off. I'm finally printing- can anyone offer advice on these calibration prints:

The thin wall print was still a little messy looking to me but the solid cube seemed decent. I thought I was getting there with the right filament tension on the Bowden rollers and decent print settings, but damn is this extruder finicky. After these test prints and trying a real print, I am back to having issues with my retraction settings causing the filament to get stuck between the rollers and the entrance of the Bowden tube. I guess I really need to print that piece PolygonHell posted to keep the filament aligned to the hole.
These were the Retraction settings that caused the filament jam:
Length 10MM
Speed 68MM/Sec
Extra Length on Restart .5MM
Minimum Travel 5.0
I then dialed them back and didn't get a jam, but was getting a lot of gaps with the print:
Length 5MM
Speed 55MM/Sec
Extra Length on Restart .3MM
Minimum Travel 3.0
I really want to get this thing working reliably. Any advice appreciated. Thx.
Back to calibration again...

Re: Back to calibration again...
50 mm tall test cube is looking very wavy. Any pointers?
I'm using Slic3r and Repetier.
Left Print:
.36mm layer height
30mm/sec perimeter
60mm/sec infill
First layer 235 degrees
Other layers 235
1 extrusion multiplier
Retraction:
Length 8MM
Speed 55MM/Sec
Extra Length on Restart 0MM
Minimum Travel 3.0
Right Print: Same settings, just 5 degrees cooler extrusion -Other layers 230

Increasing retraction distance and speed, I keep getting fiilament tangles between the bowden rollers and the entrance to the tube. I've adjusted the tension to be as loose as possible without getting filament grinding in the rollers....
