Re-calibrating - can't get Horizontal Radius to touch paper?

Post by add1ct3dd »

Just came back to redo my horizontal radius as I noticed printing wide prints it was arching and the center was too high, and the outsides too low.

I was at 129.5 for my Horizontal Radius when I originally calibrated the printer, so I went back to the manual to get the right steps to know what to do.

So I have done this in the following order:

* Set Z=0 with paper
* Z-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* Y-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* X-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* Bed Center - paper is not being grabbed at all, increased 0.5
* Bed Center - paper is not being grabbed at all, increased 0.5
* Bed Center - paper is not being grabbed at all, increased 0.5
* Bed Center - paper is not being grabbed at all, increased 0.5
* This was a familiar pattern so I started going in higher increments from 1's, to 2's, to 5's - up to 150mm - still the Bed Center macro has 0 change in how high it is - it is STILL not grabbing the paper :S

Am I calibrating it wrong? It seems I must be for the height to not change at Bed Center?

Should I maybe doing it in this order?
* Z-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* Y-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* X-Tower Adjust macro and adjusted endstop as required
* Bed Center - paper is not being grabbed at all, increased 0.5
* Repeat above.

I validated all my macros are correct, so not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Any help much appreciated.

I'm an idiot, of course it's the second set of instructions. Just done it, ended up at 130.3, much better.

Damnit!!

Ahh well, at least I finally worked it out - now perfectly level again and printing awesome.

I had a failure a few days back - the PTC connector had chewed through the bowden tube, and left the smalll piece it "grabs" inside!! Got some really nice ones through from a store online, back printing again.

improving print quality

Hi Everyone I am using Rostock max V2, the print quality was not great since all the cheapstakes are shaking and not stiff with the vertical pillars. Any idea to adjust cheapstakes and make it fit to the vertical pillars?
